Holy Week

Dear Parishioner,

At the heart of our Faith are the saving Mysteries of our Lord’s Sufferings, Death and Resurrection. The services scheduled below are designed to enable us to enter as fully as we can into these Mysteries.

Special opportunities to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance this week with individual confession and absolution are scheduled as follows: on Tues., Apr. 11th,  at Resurrection Parish at 6:30 p.m. until all confessions are heard; on Wed., Apr. 12th, at St. Mary Parish from 6:30 p.m. until all confessions are heard.

LITURGIES FROM HOLY THURSDAY THROUGH EASTER are as follows:

On Holy Thursday, April 13th, the Lord’s Supper Masses are scheduled as follows: at St. Mary Parish at 8:00 p.m. and at Resurrection Parish at 8:00 p.m.

On Good Friday, April 14th, the Solemn Good Friday Liturgy is to be celebrated as follows:

at St. Mary Parish at 1:30 p.m., and at Resurrection Parish at 7:00 p.m.

On Holy Saturday, April 15th, the Solemn Easter Vigil Mass is to be celebrated in both St. Mary Parish and in Resurrection Parish at 8:30 p.m.

On Easter Sunday, April 16th, Masses are to be celebrated at the normal times, namely at Resurrection Parish at 8:30 a.m. and at St. Mary Parish at 10:30 a.m.

May our participation in these special services renew within us the desire and ability to live in the light of our Lord’s Victory and to witness to our Faith in a convincing way.

Warmly yours in Christ,

Fr. Nelson Beaver – Pastor

A COMMUNAL PENANCE SERVICE at which several priests plan to be present to hear confessions is to be celebrated at Sacred Heart Parish, Bethlehem, at 3:00 p.m. this Sunday, April 9th.

THE ANNUAL CHRISM MASS is to be celebrated at our Cathedral in Toledo on Wednesday, April 12th, at 11:00 a.m. At the Chrism Mass, we priests renew the commitment that we made at our priestly ordination to serve as the Church directs us to do this as priests. Also at this Mass, the three oils that are used in the celebration of four of the seven Sacraments are blessed by the Bishop. To express the unity of the local Diocesan Church, each parish is directed to provide for the Reception of the consecrated oils at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday Evening.
