update on COVID-19 and parish events
In response to the recent Coronavirus pandemic, Bishop Daniel Thomas has dispensed the Catholic faithful from the obligation of participating at Sunday Mass for the next 3 weekends (March 14-15, March 21-22, and 28-29). Mass will still be celebrated at the regularly scheduled times at Resurrection for those who would like to participate.
However - and this is vitally important- those who are sick- experiencing symptoms of illness or are at risk of illness are encouraged not to attend the Mass but to spend time in prayer, watch/listen to a broadcast of Sunday Mass via television, radio or internet and to make a spiritual communion from home.
Given the dispensation from the Bishop from the obligation to attend Mass and the Governor's recent executive order, the following children’s events and activities ARE CANCELED at Resurrection Parish:
Parish School of Religion classes, March 15. March 22, March 29.
Living Stations of the Cross, March 20
Prayer Pizza Pop, March 20
High School Upper Room youth group, March 22
Bowling night with Damascus, March 15
We are postponing Pasta and Penance scheduled for March 18 to a later date still to be determined.
As we continue to navigate uncharted territory, let us keep those individuals affected by this illness and those who care for them in our prayers as well as the health and safety of all.
