Browsing From the Pastor

Fr. Matthew Frisbee

Dear Friends,

How excited I am that Bishop Thomas has assigned me to be your pastor! I look forward to getting to know you, serve you, and worship with you in these upcoming weeks, months, and years.

Perhaps a little introduction of myself is in order. My name is Fr. Matthew Frisbee, and I often go by Fr. Matt. I grew up in the suburbs of Toledo (Perrysburg and then Rossford), and I'm the oldest of four children: my sister Katie lives in Toledo with her husband and daughter; my brother David lives in Washington, D.C.; and my youngest brother Nick lives in Toledo while finishing his college degree. My dad, also Matt Frisbee (we have different middle names), lives in Rossford, and my mom, Emily Young, lives in Toledo.

I attended Central Catholic High in Toledo, and from there I attended St. Joseph College Seminary in Chicago and finished my formation and preparation for the priesthood at Mount St. Mary Seminary of the West in Cincinnati. I was ordained a priest in 2014, and I served the parishes of Holy Angels, St. Mary's, and Sts. Peter and Paul in Sandusky for the last five years.

I am a big sports fan and am especially a big fan of the Browns, Indians, and Buckeyes. I'm sure there is more to say about me, but that can wait for later. I want to thank Fr. Beaver for his dedicated service to both parishes and thank Fr. Nick for coming out of retirement to serve here for the last eight and a half months and for helping me during this transition. Let's all pray for both Fr. Beaver and Fr. Nick, and know that I am praying for all of you.

In Christ,

Fr. Matt
