From the Pastor:

Thanks to everyone from our three parishes who welcomed us priests last weekend at the Masses. Your goodness and kindness were much appreciated and is inspiring to us. We look forward to continuing to meet new parishioners at each of our three locations. Remember that this Sunday will be the second meet-and-greet potluck. It will be 5pm at Resurrection parish. Thanks to all who helped organized the event last Sunday at St. Peter and also to those who attended. There was plenty of delicious food and good conversation.

We priests are enjoying the new dynamics of having three of us in the rectory. We are enjoying the increased opportunities we have for praying together and sharing meals. Most people would probably be surprised at how infrequently our schedules overlap. This is very noticeable with two priests in the rectory. However, we do our best to build time into our weekly schedules for getting together. This past Monday we celebrated the holiday with barbecued ribs, roasted corn, and a salad. We are grateful!

We are living in the rectory at St. Peter instead of the other rectories for several reasons. The first of those is that it is centrally located between Resurrection and St. Mary parishes. This is especially important for when we need to visit parishioners at home or in care facilities for the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. The most frequent facility we visit for such calls is OhioHealth’s hospital, which, conveniently, is only blocks away from St. Peter’s rectory.

Another reason we live at St. Peter rectory is that it is the largest of the three parish rectories. Its size allows for each priest to have a modestly sized bedroom, sitting/study room, and bathroom. The sitting/study room is important for priests to continue their spiritual studies which are essential to their spiritual health. I’m also happy the rectory is large enough to house a seminarian, because our parishioners offer unique opportunities for their priestly formation.

Lastly for this week, the following is the daily Mass schedule for the three parishes. There was an error in what was previously posted a few weeks ago. I apologize for any confusion that may have caused.

Monday:  8:00 am @ Resurrection

5:30 pm @ St. Peter

Tuesday:  7:00 am @ St. Peter

5:30 pm @ St. Mary

Wednesday: 7:00 am @ St. Peter

Thursday:  7:00 am @ St. Peter

5:30 pm @ Resurrection

Friday:  8:00 am @ St. Mary

5:30 pm @ St. Peter

Gratefully,
Fr. Miller
